Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Rivington Primary School we are committed to supporting our children academically and nurturing their wellbeing. Over the next couple of months we will be updating this page with information about how we as a school, the local authority and other agencies can support you and your child's needs.

If you are experiencing difficulties with getting your child into school due to them being upset or anxious, this video outlines a strategy called the Iceberg Model that may help you understand why your child is feeling like this.

Mental Health Support Team

The NHS Mental Health Support Team service provide direct mental health support to our school. They are available to support children, parents and staff. At Rivington Primary School, Jayne from the Mental Health Support Team visits our school weekly to support children who have been referred. If you feel like your child would benefit from this service then please contact Miss Cunliffe (Pastoral and Safeguarding Manager).
