Bonfires and fireworks

Date: 8th Nov 2015 @ 9:34pm

We had a really exciting week when it was Bonfire Night. The children explored making firework pictures using lots of different coloured paints and materials. They also created paintings of bonfires by painting one hand orange and the other one yellow. They were amazed when they rubbed their hands together and saw that they had made the colour orange. The children made rockets using different shapes like squares and triangles. We also sang a number song called '5 sparkling fireworks'.

On Thursday 5th November we watched some fireworks on the school field with our friends in Reception class and then sat around a pretend bonfire eating hot dogs. For our snack on Friday we made edible sparklers by dipping marshmallows in chocolate and then dipping them in sprinkles. A delicous treat!
